We all have wish lists and dreams. One of mine is to own a piece of Cig Harvey’s photography [or several]. She is one of those artists whose work will forever remain in your mind. Cig has shot for Kate Spade, Bloomingdale’s and Ralph Lauren, and her photography is as much about fashion as getting the right shot. Surprisingly, almost all of her photographs are self-portraits, something that has always captivated me. Cig envisions the entire shot before she ever picks up a camera and, in many cases, hand makes specific outfits to get the exact outcome she visualized. Even in her black and white photos, a strong sense of color radiates from the image.
