Let's Makeup

A while back I was asked by Kelly to complete this Signature Me tag. I'm incessantly on the hunt for my favorite primping products, so this tag was especially fun. If you have a foolproof beauty regime, please share!

My Foundation: Laura Mercier or Stila Tinted Moisturizer.
While I don't wear foundation, I can't go a day without my tinted moisturizer with SPF. I flip between Laura Mercier and Stila's depending on the season...I find Laura Mercier's to be a little heavy in Houston's blazing summer heat.

My Mascara: Maybelline Great Lash.
My lashes are long, but not very thick so I use just a smidge of Maybelline on my upper and lower lashes. It's the only mascara that doesn't smear black residue under my eyes, but you have to apply with a lighthand so you don't end up with spider lashes.

Night Cream: Fresh Mamaku Night Serum.
I'm a huge proponent of night cream and this serum is godly. I wake to find my skin hydrated, smoother and much more radiant. I'm in love with this stuff!

My Beauty Product Brand: Stila.
I love the femininity of the Stila brand and have been wearing their products for years. I love the softness of their colors and the light and airy feel of their look. Everything is understated but still packs a punch.

My Essential Beauty Product: Fresh Soy Face Cleanser.
A dear friend turned me on to this magical product and it's worth every penny. An ant-sized amount removes an entire event's worth of makeup, I kid you not. Incredibly gentle and you'll never again play tug-o-war with your eyes attempting to remove layers of mascara or liquid eyeliner.

My Favorite Makeup Product: YSL's Touche Eclat.
Without fail, every time I use this product to highlight areas on my face, I get compliments asking what I use. I have pretty dark areas around my eyes and this pen does all the work for me.

My Perfume: Marc Jacobs or Hermes Calèche Eau Délicate.
I wear Marc Jacobs on a regular basis, but the Hermes is always so nice. I've worn this one for years. Both suit me to a T.

Three Products (besides solar) to bring on a Deserted Island: Sunscreen [I had to list this even though it says besides solar...I'm paranoid], Fresh Sugar Lip Balm, and a toothbrush.

Woman with the Best Sense of Style:
I tend to get more inspiration and fuel from seeing normal women on the streets looking stylish and confident. Celebrities with movie star budgets and personal stylists don't really do it for me.

My Ultimate Dream:
To travel the world, continue to learn, and always rest my head at night knowing each day I did the best I could.

How Do I Define Womanhood:
Confident. Morally Concious. Giving.

My Favorite Fashion Publication:
Not so much a publication but definitely worthy of one, the always inspiring Sartorialist is my go-to stimulus.

I'm taking the bait, I will be posting my beauty faves in the morning. You sounds like a natural beauty, I however will do anything to prevent wrinkles and sometimes like to apply my makeup with a trowel. Ha ha! :)

Stila is the only eyeshadow brand I wear and I love Marc Jacobs perfume.

Thanks for stopping by Apt34 Courtney! FYI if you love Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer I'd also recommend Trish McEvoy foundation. I was a true believer in Laura, but I've made the switch and am now obsessed!

Sarah: You're crazy. Why do I have a feeling that is so not true :)

Elizabeth: Isn't Stila the best? I'm not into really bold eyeshadow, so their line is right up my alley.

Apt. 34: Great recommendation! I've never tried it, but definitely worth giving it a shot.

I've been trying the YSL's Touche Eclat - no compliments yet, but I like the texture. I just hope I'm using it right!

This was very educational. Great post!

I have been using Sisley eye botanical gel for 11 years. It's pricey, but soooo worth it. One container can last a year. Apply it to the crow's feet around your eyes [not that you have any] and they go away and your eyes stay supple and moist. That is the driest area on the face and therefore we wrinkle there easily.

Erica: I use Benefit's Eyeconand it really does help lighten the area underneath my eye. But I'm also curious to try the Sisley one Sereta mentioned. I'm such a sucker for products!
