Saturday we attended a wedding in Clear Lake, a suburb of Houston, and afterwards all the guests boarded The Spirit of Texas paddlewheeler for one heck of a reception. We took off on a 4 hour excursion into Galveston Bay and around the Kemah Boardwalk, all the while dancing, eating, drinking and waving to other boats along the way! What a great party -- and an even better way to spend a summer night.

...and towards the end of the night, I couldn't get over how ridiculous the chairs looked. Everyone enjoyed themselves so much the slip covers were all but on the floor!

P.S. In typical Houston summer fashion, I opted to wear the most lightweight, frothy dress I own to ward off the intense heat. As luck would have it, a torrential storm came through 20 minutes before boarding and a tornado was spotted a few miles away - forcing me to fight against the winds to keep my "frothy" dress down past my chest. Thank god for slips and for the storm's passing!

what fun! (except for the storm, of course). Very cute pic of you & your guy, too.
How fun! You look gorgeous, Court!
You look calm, cool, and collected, and the hair is frizz-free, which is quite a feat! (For me, at least). Sounds like a great weekend. I love those top three pics too...so pretty!
Love the photo of the black and white light house, anything with stripes I love.
And the slip covers on chairs?! - if that is not an advertisement for having a "slip covered chair"-free wedding I don't know what is!! For my dream wedding to my dream man (when I find him...) - NO SLIP COVERS, I'll have louis ghost chairs please!Like i said, total fantasy....
Lil Bee: Calm and collected, yes! Frizzy hair...well I lucked out that the storm took every bit of humidity out of the air! I have naturally curly/wavy hair, so trust me. You would have seen some frizz!!
Kimberlee: I fully support your dream of a Ghost chair filled wedding. Sounds just perfect to me!
you are darling. period.
Wow does that make me miss home. We lived in Clear Lake for 9 years before moving to Georgia. I loved it down there.
What a fun idea for a wedding reception! I can't WAIT to get married one day :) (step one: find boyfriend. haha.) You look gorgeous as always, and great pic of the lighthouse!
