Daytrippin'

Sometimes it's nice to force yourself outside on a rainy day, and yesterday we did just that. My parents and I took a little road trip to Austin where we scoured antique stores, ransacked a candy shop, smiled at this food truck, and ate at a darling cafe that's been harvesting its own organic vegetables and herbs for 15 years. It was like being back in grade school and taking a field trip for just a few hours!

Good for you! It's like I just posted about the husband and I taking a trip to Sedona--it's in my state--other people travel thousands of miles to see it--be a tourist for the day!

You hit up some great spots! Eastside Cafe is one of my faves, and I love to take out-of-town visitors.

It's always nice to spend time with your children, especially when they are adults, come rain or shine. We had a wonderful day and our spirits weren't dampened a bit. We enjoy being out and about and having Courtney direct us to one neat place after another. Great day!! Thanks.

I ate at the Eastside Cafe myself the last time I was in Austin. It's a great little place. Good food, cozy atmosphere, and they let you wander around in their garden.

What fun! You traveled from one big city to another (although Austin is in a league of it's own, don't you think?)

We go from Fredericksburg to Austin to go to the big city! You enjoyed two of my favorites - Uncommon Objects and Eastside Cafe!! Sounds like a perfect day!!

Isn't Home Girls great? Did you know most of their wall displays were done by Alyson Fox? I also love the owners, I've met them a couple of times; and they are so friendly.

Ha! You didn't think I'd let this pass me by, right? You mean, there wasn't a last minute drive to Flip Happy? You were practically there! (FYI: their sweet crepes are delish, but I'm more than partial to my insatiable sweet tooth)

And thanks for the heads up on East Side Cafe -- and to think, ML and I were driving around that very hood a couple of weeks ago!

I'm very very jealous :)
