I like the first outfit for either date night or a P.T.A. meeting....can't decide.

I have been seeing the J. Crew love all over the blogosphere...my biggest fear is that I will be seeing it everywhere! Maybe not in Austin...what do you think?!

Agreed!

Seleta: I can totally see both! That comment cracked me up. And you, of course, MUST sport the knee socks. A very key component to getting it right.

Barchbo: I agree. It is everywhere right now, but their styling has been so spot-on the past few seasons! I think the key to any large retailer is mixing their pieces in with your current wardrobe and making them your own. I'm not a "wear it once" sort of girl, so I also tend to be careful about making sure I can get a lot of mileage with what I buy!

Courtney, I completely agree - JCrew's marketing and merchandising team get me ever. single. time. I drool over most of it - and I love the saturated colors of this season's edition. The only saving grace that I have is that their fits are rarely the best option for me.

So shoes it is! (ebay has a motherload right now of all the lovely summer goodies, err... I shouldn't be encouraging competition!)

I can't bring myself to wear peep-toe pumps with tights... am I just stuck in 'old rules'?

Oh how I love that dress. I reallllllllly need it for my "golden" birthday! I think it's only fair.

Oh yes.... they'll be collecting some of my money this fall as well. I am so completely impressed with their transformation from college cool to city chic.

I think what 'sells' it the most are those fantastic photographs. I'm convinced I never have success with Bluefly because of the headless white mannequins. So impersonal. But J. Crew has these happy models actually moving in the clothes. It works!

Anon: You know...it's tricky with the peep toe/tights thing. It totally depends on the shoe. Not all peep toes look good when worn with tights. But I love the look when done well.
