I Am Toast

One of the best things I've ever eaten is Cafe Gitane's Avocado Toast. This is quickly becoming a morning staple in my house.

To make your own, lightly drizzle a thick slice of multi-grain bread with extra virgin olive oil and a tiny squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Using a ripe avocado, generously scoop on top of bread and finish with a sprinkle of red chili flakes. Add a pinch of salt for kicks and you're done!

Well, since I've already stated that avocados are the first thing I am going to thank Jesus for when I get to the other side (I'm still under the assumption that it's Him I'm gonna see...right?)...is AVOCADOS...I guess I'd be willing to give this a try! Sounds pretty darn tasty, Miss Courtney!

Glad to have you and your hair back! :)

Delicious! Reminds me of my breakfast every morning when I was in Amsterdam - fresh farmer's cheese, olive oil, salt and pepper, and a couple slices of tomato on multigrain bread. Seriously, who needs anything else? The avocado is a nice addition.

I think I lived on avocado for a whole year in college. But then I learned that a "good fat" is still fat! There's a Mexican place around the corner from our place that has the most amazing guacamole. They make it in front of you and I've watched them intently to try to figure out the secret, but unfortunately, it's escaped me thus far!

that looks so good I wish I had an avocado right now!

Oh great...now you too. First I have to be careful with sushi, then I have to be careful around Mexican food, and now I have to be careful here?? Love avocado, but it does not love me....terribly allergic. Boo Hoo.

yeah, this is pretty much the only way I like avocados. but I smear a quarter-ish on wheat toast and drizzle some thick balsamic on it along with a grind of black pepper. YUM.

Avocado toasts or avocado sandwiches have been a staple in my house since I was little! I looove them! They are very popular in Peru. My (american) husband is now addicted to them as well

I suggest mixing the avacado with some soft goat cheese spread on the bread. And if you have a toaster over do this prior to putting the bread with topping in then its all nice and warm and gooey
