Erika inspired me to pull out old artwork and revisit some of my past sketches, circa 2000-2003. What pieces do you still have lying around? We want to see your picture perfect drawings!
I have to laugh because I just posted something on Erika's too about sketching. I think when I moved into this house I finally threw all of my old stuff away but in hindsight I have to say I'm kinda sad.
These are awesome, Courtney! And I don't know why I just noticed this now, but you used to work at Hollywould? I used to live in that store when it first opened downtown and had the 90% off sample sales. I amassed quite a collection in my early 20s!!
Bee: I swear I was probably manning the door during the sales when you were there. I used to want to pull my hair out at those things!! But they were smoking prices. Even the employees used to snag most their stuff at those sales!
I was destined to be a part of the creative world—between my early obsession with Fashion Plates and declaration at a young age that Jem was more hip than Barbie, it was just a matter of time until my fondness for design became a career. A Louisiana native, I moved to New York and led the wholesale divisions for Hollywould and Jill Stuart, as well as designed with couturier Ralph Rucci. With my husband and our furry daughter, Burkly Deluxe, we embarked on a few years of overseas adventures in Malaysia. We are now back Stateside “Inside the Loop” in Houston, Texas.

You out-did me.
Don't make me get out my portfolio from college! :)
Wow, your sketches look amazing! I loved rendering in college, this makes me kind of miss it!

No way, Erika. These have NOT outdone yours. I was trained in fashion drawings, you interiors. Wanna see me draw a sink?? You'll get a good laugh :)

You are such a good fashion illustrator- I always wished I could draw people but they never came out looking anything like people!
