Back in February, I was determined to take this inherited chair:
and turn it into this [piping and all]:
That was my plan until I received the memo sample from Hable Construction. In person, the colors appear more light pink and mustard instead of the dark pink/chartreuse combo I was hoping for.
So while visiting the Fabric Queen last weekend, we dug around in her piles of samples and both fell in love with these two:
Honey Ravenna by Christopher Farr Cloth: This fabric has an interesting graphic quality, but would that fight with the wood detail? I kind of think it'd be beautiful if the seat and front sections were in this linen with the back of the chair upholstered in something more masculine like an ecru or tobacco leather. That could also keep the pattern from fighting with the intricate chair frame.
AMIJAO Sulphur by Raoul Textiles: Erika recently posted on this fabric which was featured in Elle Decor. I love the heavier weight of this Oyster Linen, but I'm not sure if I would tire of the print. It is beautiful though!
This chair would be used in the corner of my bedroom, so it would need to work either as an accent piece or a compliment to my wallpaper. The Hable's pink would have definitely been a contrasting accent, whereas the other two relate better to the patterned wall. So design gurus, what are your thoughts?
