I'm battening down the hatches to prepare for
Ike, who I do not like. It's uncertain whether we'll loose power, Internet [eek!] or a roof, but rest assured we're taking action.

To all my friends who are affected by the storm, make like the trees; if you don't leave then please prepare, hunker down and stay safe!

stay safe courtney. we have family inside the loop, outside the loop and south of houston (they boarded up their windows today, dry docked the boats, etc, yikes). i have knots in my stomach...prayers are with you.
All my Texas friends are in my thoughts and prayers right now in the wake of Ike. Will be waiting patiently for your safe return. Take good care.
Stay safe and dry! We're praying for the best!
Praying up here in KC, too! Stay safe with your hubby and your precious little girl... and keep us updated!
keep safe! I'll be thinking of you!
i'll be sending good thoughts your way! that sounds way scarier than the occasional earthquakes that hit california. fabulous photo, btw.
I was just thinking of you today. Stay safe! You can always come to the Ham and visit moi!
Great picture though.
Have to admit... I am freaking out a little bit! My fam is still not deciding what they are doing despite my urging... so frustrating, funny how when you get older, you begin worrying about your parents more and more!
Sending all my good thoughts your way, hoping you & your fellow & Ms. Deluxe stay safe and dry.
And if you decide to evacuate to the Great Lakes region, there's a room and peach crisp in Cleveland at your beck and call!
Seriously ;)
Stay safe! I'll be thinking of you and yours.
Please evacuate! Never mess with Mother Nature!! :) Our waves 500 miles east are HUGE already.... so scary. Be safe!
was just thinking of you! please please be safe, take care, and keep us posted.
Court! Worried about you! I will be praying... I know how scary hurricanes are... if you freak out at the last minute... just jump on I-10 and head east... we'd love to have you!
XOXO

Hey Courtney,
We're staying here in the Heights too.. if you all need anything call me!
Courtney, get your candles ready.
We already lost power tonight in NOLA from the fringe winds...
Is hurricane season over yet?
But I really like that photograph...
Thank you all so so very much! They have not evacuated our zip code, so we've boarded up the house (it's a bit odd with everything being so dark) and are making sure to utilize our current state of electricity by doing dishes, laundry, etc...all the things we won't be able to get done when power goes out. Keep the prayers and good thoughts coming!!
Jessica, I hope your power comes back so very soon! And I, too, hope this hurricane season is almost done. Too scary! xx
Hope all goes well, we are praying!
Court:
Batten down those hatches and stay safe! I am so worried about all of y'all that are still in Houston! I'm definitely saying a few extra prayers for everyone staying in the city!
Love you guys!
PS: i have some AWESOME pictures from the Parker that I have to show you after I get back next Friday!
We are praying for you from Malaysia!! Stay safe and be careful...miss mendi went to south louisiana to escape, but they still hardly have power there! Blog asap so we know you're ok! xxx M
Ugh. The darkness of a shuttered house is the worst. We waste the time making shadow puppets on the wall with the candlelight. I'm praying for a storm that doesn't get any stronger, but actually weakens. Stay in touch when you can......it's actually the losing power that is the worst....especially for the days after! All my best! An unwanted adventure for sure, but I'm sure you look great in that "diaster kit" of yours!
Hey Courtney...we're all thinking of you and your family. Keep us updated when you can! Stay safe!
Safe keeping!
I have been thinking about you everytime I time I hear the word "Ike".
I just spoke with my mom and dad! I am thinking about all of you and sending out prayers! Stay safe and dry!
Courtney-
My prayers are with you and your family and others in the area.
Be safe my friend!
How is your pup holding up? These little guys seem to know what is headed our way before we do. Our dog gave us warning a week ago for what was in store for me last Friday.
Hugs,
Joyce
Stay safe and dry! Run to NC if you need to :)
Hunker down girl!
From your title I almost felt as if a Dr. Seuss book were to follow.
oooh and tell Burkly D. to take it easy, when I lived in Florida, my dog was a freak during hurrincanes, she was so discombobulated.
Stay safe my friend!
Stay Safe!!
