October is such a beautiful month. Seasons change, temperatures drop and the holidays draw near. The perfect time to fall in love with:
• It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Such a classic!
• going home for the first time in months.
• throwing a cozy cocktail party before the holiday rush.
• planning a long Louisiana weekend at my godparent's cattle farm.
• the occasional Pumpkin Spice Latte.
• collaborating with my talented neighbor to make us these. Having more than 4 plates will make me a happy girl!
• wearing jackets and pants without breaking a sweat.

C,
I love those dishes. I find a lot of formal dinnerware to be a bit boring and only used during special holidays. Those plates are fab! I would use them all the time My mother-in-law would totally cringe if I had them.
(Hmm note to self: Files these plates away and order them for her when she starts making me nutty...again)
You're lucky to have such a talented neighbor. How do you even go about making those plate?

charlie brown will never get old. p.s. i love your blog. always an inspiration!
all reasons why october/halloween is my favorite time of year. the anticipation in the air is contagious and i love the change in seasons. sadly, LA is experiencing a horrific Indian Summer and it was 98 degrees last night when i left work!
I'd love to know how you're going to make those plates! When I first saw those, I figured there must be a way - but I don't have the ingenuity to begin to figure it out... I love fall too - just wish Florida would cool off a little faster. Pumpkin Spice Lattes are my favorite! :)
C: I can't take credit for the actual pottery part - that's where Kathy comes in. I'm hunting the city for the perfect paper plate...and then she's going to town. I love that someone I know is making them for me, and that she gets to try something new!
Valerie: Thanks a million! And no, Charlie Brown is always a hit. And there's a movie for each holiday - the best part!
Emily: Houston is getting that hot in the afternoons, but I'm getting up early and staying out late just to get that hint of crispness in the air! I live for that.
Aww, well thank you! :) I'm in love with your Vespa - if I didn't have the daughter, I would definitely want one!
So it sounds like I need to take pottery classes... You'll have to let us know how it turns out! I wish I had a neighbor like that :)
Your list of fall favorites is perfect. Love your picture.....too cute!
your photo totally made me laugh out load! Too funny & too cute. great list of fun Fall things.
Have a great week.
lovely title...scroll... bam! witch photo. I laughed!
UM...it's 100 degrees in L.A. right now. If I tried wearing a jacket or pants, I'd be not only sweating but completely wilted with heat exhaustion.
Megan: Maybe come October 31st you will be able to wear a jacket or pants, huh? Surely it will cool off at some point this month! I'm doing lots of wishful thinking here...
Isn't that witch picture the best. How can you not laugh? I love love love it.
Here's to fall, my favorite season. Can't wait to carve pumpkins, drink those insane lattes and throw a cozy cocktail party. All on my list and all VERY exciting.
That picture is great. I've always wanted one of those witches crashing into the column of my front porch. Maybe I'll just go out and find one this week. I'm also looking forward to wearing jackets and my favorite...Williams Sonoma Pumpkin Spice Quick Bread.
