Gift Guide Part 3: Man About Town

For the go-to guy in your life and his multiple fixations. He's ¼ prepster, ¼ tech junkie, ¼ athlete and ¼ brainiac, truly a man for all seasons and these Big Boy toys are sure to please.

1. What male is not a pyro? The modern man needs something slick to light his fire, like this nickel butane fire starter.

2. The Dock Shooter has been called a cross between a vintage CB radio antenna and the butt end of an expensive custom fishing rod. It's portability and size makes it the ideal companion for fishing in brush, trees or tight quarters.

3. Derringer Cylces' Moto Hybrid was designed by industrial designer Adrian Van Anz as a missing link between his Ducati and Schwinn. The bike can be propelled by foot or gas, thanks to the engine that gets over 150-MPG! If the price is a bit out of budget, Chubby's Rat Rod Kustom Cruiser is just as kitschy, but minus the motor and exorbitant pricetag.

4. D.R. Harris & Co. are purveyors of the finest toiletries and medicines to Royalty. Their Almond Oil Soap is incredibly moisturizing and ideal for the gents with sensitive skin. Talk about a smooth shave!

5. This cozy wool knit POW Scarf is a knockout for the man in need of some comic relief.

6. Have his favorite item [a pet, car, suit or vacation spot, et al.] immortalized in art. And I can't think of a better person to commission than artist extraordinaire Happy Menocal.

7. Muji's Spherical Ice Tray molds two large ice spheres that are slow-melting, perfect for fancying up a good cocktail and preferred by serious on-the-rocks drinkers.

8. Mother of Pearl collar stays from bespoke clothier Seize sur Vingt are refined substitutes for their plastic counterparts.

9. What's Christmas without something for his best friend? A bone-shaped pet pillow that conforms perfectly to Fido's head, sure to have him quickly counting cats.

10. Bill Amberg's vibrant leather Watch Roll will safely protect his three most favorite timepieces. Would also be a great way to present your better half with that watch he's been eyeing.

11. Slingbox is a TV streaming device that allows users to remotely view their home's cable, satellite or DVR on any laptop or mobile phone [sorry iPhoners, not yet] via the Internet. He'll never miss that highly anticipated football game again.

12. Your commuting bookworm will flip for an Amazon Kindle. The e-book reader is an embedded system for reading electronic books with an electronic-paper display that looks and reads like real paper. Added bonus: the minute someone mentions a great book, you can immediately purchase, download and start reading it right away. Instant gratification at it's best!

13. Alexander Olch's bow ties from Lark are constructed from luxe fabrications like Italian velvet, English wool and Peruvian alpaca. Perfect for that swanky New Year's party where he'll resemble Dapper Dan.

14. In God We Trust's Canvas Duffle is streamlined, roomy and, most importantly, heavy duty enough for constant use to and from his weekend jaunts.

What a great list, Court! And don't think I didn't notice the way you so cleverly put them together with, what was it, photoshop? Very impressive! That bike is pretty awesome, especially in orange.

Love this list. I was already ordering the fishing pole for Jon and I actually found the lighter the other day and I was going to order as well.

Thanks!

OK, we just got Slingbox yesterday, and I am completely amazed and enamored by it! It is really rather wild.

And, once again, great choices! Fishing gear and shaving things are always on my gift list for E, and I am loving the mother of pearl collar stays and the canvas duffle (and I think he'd dig them too!)
