The Type Cast

The January issue of Modern Luxury's Houston Magazine features a few blogs deemed bookmark worthy, and I'm incredibly honored to have been chosen as one of three "hipping up" my now-adopted hometown. It's for sure an exciting start to the year!

They're right...you are very cool. :) Maybe you should get a new chair though. We'd hate for it to break and you to be away from the blog while finding a replacement. That would be tragic! Great picture. I love that color on you. Who's dress?

Courtney said...

Hip hip hooray! What a wonderful interview and a well-deserved feature. And you look fabulous in that photo!

Courtney said...

Kate: When I find the right chair, I'll trade this one out and promise to post a "Before and After" to give all of you a good laugh! I bought my current one with the intent to refurbish it and, well, that was three years ago.

The dress is 3.1 Phillip Lim from a few seasons ago that I cinched in with a vintage belt. Thanks for the compliment - I'm a sucker for jewel tones!

What an awesome article!!! And the photo is great! Congrats! :)

Courtney said...

Chasity: All three of the blogs are so incredibly different from one another, which is fun! The first paragraph was on Mary who is one of the writers of http://nonsociety.com/ and the other blog is Cubist Literature (cubistliterature.vox.com) by Craig Hunter.

Thank you CC! They are Banfi Zambrelli and I bought them from Neiman's over a year ago. Quite comfy given the super high heel!

Long time follower, first time commenter. Really great interview and it's always great to see a "local" girl get some much-deserved press (btw, I liked your feature in Lucky a few months back, too). I particularly love that your blog shows how stylish and relevant Houston can actually be (after spending time in the northeast myself, I became very defensive of my hometown!).

Keep on keeping on. :)

Just picked up the magazine today at High Fashion Home store on Travis. Seeing the article prompted me to re-visit your blog. I've got a lot of catching up to do. Great inspiration!
