Operation Awesomosity

Well, the Garage Sale of Awesomosity was a success, though I'm still recuperating from the Early Birds who showed up at 5AM with flashlights to navigate the darkness! I loved meeting so many blog readers and had no idea how much of a stir the sale/ad caused. The local news got wind and dropped by to feature us on Friday night. [good thing the hoodlums were on their best behavior, otherwise our 2 minutes may have been bumped...] We had a blast with reporter Sally MacDonald and don't judge my lack of camera skills—I was trying my very best not to bust a gut over having my junk on parade for all of Houston, Texas.

That was terrific! Fun to hear your voice....which always seems strange after just reading someone's words for so long. How could the news not be interested in a garage sale with that tag line! Glad it was a success and wishing I could have been there for those maps.

Oh, man, I'm so sad I live so far away! Very exciting, though. Hope you had an awesome time :-)

Lady, you are too adorable.

I'm glad the sale lived up to the name, but like Jae, I wish I could have been there for those maps!

Haha, that was awesome! Of course, you'd make a garage sale 'glamourous' ...

Only you, Courtney, could make an EVENT out of a garage sale. I love it! I always knew you'd be a smash hit at whatever you did - blogs, "junk" items, and moving out of the country to boot! I am going to miss you!

That was your Dad!! He was such a charmer Courtney! So nice, he literally had a story for every item we picked up. I adored him!

Whew! You all must be tuckered out after the sale of awesomosity! Unfortunately it was too far to come from NY... I'm sure I missed out on some good stuff. Congrats on the sale, and on the news coverage. I hope you and your family all made loads of cash!

Yahoo.... Now this is a garage sale, to make the news!! I have to ask what does your love say when he sees you in magazines and now on TV? (smile...)

Oh I wish I was there I saw some vintage jars I would have loved. Tell me Dr. Nut didn't sell!

Courtney the good thing is you will be traveling light.

Have a golden night! xoxo

If only I lived nearby, I would have been one of those early birds. I love a good bargain especially from one of my favorite bloggers.

So glad that I could set you up with Sally and that they were able to capture the awesomosity!

There was much chatter (not to mention very vigilant news watching in Friday) in my Texas circle about that HUGE garage sale!

Court,

THat is too much! I love it... you did awesome! I also love those Santa's... I hope they flew off the table!! :) Did you have any thieves??

Well, I didn't sell the Dr. Nut crate -- it's actually making the trip with us. But should I ever decide to sell it, I'll give you girls first dibs! Keep in mind, you can also order one from Installations Antiques and I'm sure they'll ship it.

And can you believe the maps never sold? I marked them down to $10 and they still made the end-of-the-day trip to the donation center!

Darby: I don't think we had any thieves. We thought some things were missing, but ended up finding them buried under piles later on. And one woman even came back to tell me I never took her $40! I handed over the goods and got sidetracked. I wanted to kiss her for being so darn honest!!

You go girl! I would have loved to participate. I've been taking car loads to the Goodwill as I don't have a yard for a yard sale. Hope it was successful! :)

Sorry I couldn't make it over there in time. Saturday morning was just a bit too crazy before making the drive to College Station. Glad to hear that your garage sale was successful! Wish I could have seen you...
