- I was destined to be a part of the creative world—between my early obsession with Fashion Plates and declaration at a young age that Jem was more hip than Barbie, it was just a matter of time until my fondness for design became a career. A Louisiana native, I moved to New York and led the wholesale divisions for Hollywould and Jill Stuart, as well as designed with couturier Ralph Rucci. With my husband and our furry daughter, Burkly Deluxe, we embarked on a few years of overseas adventures in Malaysia. We are now back Stateside “Inside the Loop” in Houston, Texas.

Moving is always exciting!!! I have moved over 20 times and each time, I find it super thrilling. I have never moved to a new country though, just new states and cities, so although I am certain it will be exciting, there will be some uncertainties along the way, but what better that you get to do this with your best friend, whom I am certain is the love of your life!! I will say a prayer for your safety and will look forward to checking back to hear about your exciting tales.

Is it weird to say that I'm simultaneously scared and thrilled for you? Scared only because I imagine the journey away from friends and family is a difficult one. Thrilled because the idea of world traveling, and learning a new culture, is unbelievably crazy wonderful. How I hope that we would have the same courage to pick up and see the world were such an opportunity afforded.
