Country Come to Town

I'm currently in Perth taking in all the cool mosquito free air [and local wine] I can get. Today I walked along Hay and Murray Streets, stumbling into Australia's lifestyle boutique Country Road. It's the ultimate pairing of workplace and weekend, like a combination of Club Monaco's sophistication and Anthropologie's country-femme appeal. I suddenly had the urge to outfit our entire home—and myself— in soft nautical neutrals.

I'm having a hard time getting past all the beautiful words you said...mosquito free, local wine, Perth, Country Road...I mean what else is there to say? Sounds perfect.

Oh Courtney - so excited to think we are on the same piece of earth, but still so far away! Hope you guys are enjoying Perth, and the shopping. Country Road is a total staple in this part of the world, for home and fashion. Enjoy rest of your trip xx

You have inspired me to write some Perth travel guides on my blog. They're still in the early stages and you'll probably recognise some of the links I posted before but I've added many more.

For a brief period in the 80s there was at least one Country Road store in Manhattan. And if I recall correctly, they tried again a couple of years ago with a shop in midtown near Fifth Ave. Wish they were here again!

I remember Country Road being in Georgetown, D.C. as well. I have a really gorgeous grey turtleneck that I got there in the 90s. It must not have taken off here, but it was a great store.

Oh, so much catch up reading for me, (Congratulations on the successful move BTW) but how exciting to see you are here in Australia - so close but yet so far. I hope you get a chance to visit the little Creatures Brewery (https://www.littlecreatures.com.au/). It makes the best beer ever and I think they are based in fremantle. And Margaret River whites are delish - they have perfected the art of the blend.
Have you ever seen a game of Austraian Rules football? Its like a religion to West Australians and its a great chance to see bogans in their natural territory. There is a really good live music scene over there and fashion wise - jewellery designers Sophie Kyron and Michelle Jank both started off in WA, The Antipodium girls are WA exports and Ruth Tarvydas and Aurelio Costarella are stalwards of the WA Fashion scene. My fave bathers ever are by Jaclin Chouchana and C design do great pieces too. Hope you have fun!

I would love to go shopping for clothes in those styles right about now! It's such a pity I live in a town where there are no malls, or even stores aside from spendy boutiques my college student budget cannot handle!
