Though my grandmother passed away several years ago, her timelessness continues to inspire me. These travel photos are proof that it pays to rethink those frumpy duds when packing. Nazie looks like a million bucks on that ski lift, and I love that she was sure to bring her purse along for the ride!
Something about her reminds me of my gram! Maybe it's the curly hair and perfectly matched accessories? Whatever it is, I can tell your Nazie was pretty damn fabulous.
Very chic and stylish indeed. The ski lift is impressive on two points... 1) She looks fab. 2) I am nowhere near brave enough to ride up a mountain on a lift looking like that! So teeny!
These are awesome! I agree that it's good to pack some nicer things when traveling. For our trip to France, I tried to bring some of my better-liked cuter clothes. It makes the photos a lot better!
That's so true. Since I travel so often for work I tend to go more casual when traveling for fun. I did make sure to pack cute cold-weather gear when we were in DC in December. I'll have to keep this in mind, though.
And your grandmother looks fantastic in every picture. I agree with Meg, though--the ski lift looks scary!
No kidding, Court. They just don't make them like they used to! I ALWAYS admire my old family pictures - the women had such pride in their appearance. xx Kara
I love this generation. I have photos of my grandmother in her finest. They are inspiring and make me wish our generation was less casual. Thanks for sharing.
I was destined to be a part of the creative world—between my early obsession with Fashion Plates and declaration at a young age that Jem was more hip than Barbie, it was just a matter of time until my fondness for design became a career. A Louisiana native, I moved to New York and led the wholesale divisions for Hollywould and Jill Stuart, as well as designed with couturier Ralph Rucci. With my husband and our furry daughter, Burkly Deluxe, we embarked on a few years of overseas adventures in Malaysia. We are now back Stateside “Inside the Loop” in Houston, Texas.
