Luck of the Draw

My first job out of college was working for a shoe designer. Though I earned pauper wages [cue every first year fashion employee groaning in unison], the gig came with a major perk: occasional freebies. On route to Bryant Park one Fashion Week, it began storming as I teetered through the streets in 4" stilettos. I quickly ran for cover and called Mom to lament about the fact that I was wearing nearly $1,000 in shoes and handbag [that were definitely gratis!], yet I didn't have $10 to my name for a cab. I also bartered with my landlord more than once to accept payment in size 8 ballet flats to no avail. And while those are bygone days, I still have an undying sweet spot for footwear.

Today I won the lottery. But actually this is much better because instead of money I'm taking home—you guessed it—SHOES! Thanks to Chickdowntown and Camila for the great giveaway. I promise to answer the call of the wild and rock these bad boys from East to West. Now, I must return to my happy dance.

You make me smile...I can SO relate to your story! I never worked for the fabulous shoe designer that you did, but I did work in publishing, where freebies were par for the course, and my swanky new pink Prada heels came dangerously close to being destroyed on one exceptionally long walk through NYC. I learned quickly to toss a pair of flats in my bag, so as not to destroy my 4" heels!

Awesome giveaway!!

So happy that you love the shoes!

Now I still think chickdowntown should let me hand deliver them on their dime!

Amazing! Though I have an entire armoire (not kidding) filled with various ballet flats, stilettos, etc. from said shoe designer, I can never have enough shoes...

These remind me of your wedding shoes, but only because the sparkly on the front looks like a shrimp, similar to your alligators!

You WOULD win a great pair of shoes! Love it!
