How To Do Fall When You're Still Sweating Buckets 101*

* or alternatively titled Faking It.

It's cooling off in most parts, but many of us are still feeling the heat! So I'm turning to a few tricks that will incorporate a seasonal change in my wardrobe, if I can't get one in my torrid city. Wearing natural, breathable fabrics like silk – in a moody navy, no less – is a perfect way to allude to fall fashion without the weight of warmer clothes. I especially love how the lofty layers drape the shoulders and neckline without adding bulk. And though it's balmy outside you can still rock a boot! Just make sure they sit low around the ankle for your legs to stay cool and comfortable.

Great selection of everything. Hard to live somewhere so warm I love fall sweaters and tights and boots. Makes you want to jump in a pile of leaves not drink a margarita!

I've also been trying to will on fall by wearing boots and longsleeves! It's been burning in Houston too! I wore boots, scarf, jeans, long sleeves like an idiot to BR last weekend and was litterally dripping sweat. I want this outfit. SO SO SO cute!!! Have you hit up Mango? They usually have the best winter/fall clothes on sale because no one buys it in s'pore/malaysia!!

Wish you were here! You could probably wear this AND maybe tights if you wanted to today. It felt like it was about 50 degrees out there this morning!!

great post! i grew up in houston and it is incredibly frustrating to want to wear all of the beautiful fall clothes you see in catalogs yet....it's 100 degrees! You've summed it up here though! I live in NYC now and wore a "summer scarf" for a trip home this past june. People thought I was nuts....

Love, love, love.

Also a little creeped out because I'm wearing a top and earrings VERY similar to those right now.

Might blog a picture as proof. If I don't get too lazy by the time I get home from work...

Thank goodness! This summer-to-fall transition is always so hard, especially living in the South.

Torrid is a good word I like that. And, it's still a bit hot here in Houston too. !!
