All Aboard

I may be a child of the '80s [slap bracelets, Atari's Pitfall!, Punky Brewster et al.], but it was the classic Seventies' Soul Train that ruled my youth. If I had a nickel for every groovin' dancer I tried to emulate in those solo dance offs...

OK. I love the post, but you cannot beat Soul Train's visit from Al Green singing "So Tired of Being Alone" in those black patent hot pants and boots to match!!!

Thought you might post "So Very Hard to Go" by Tower of Power -- also a Soul Train guest of honor.

And, why is it all the guys dance so much better than the girls on Soul Train. Anyone else notice that.

Love you, Court.

That's the wonderful thing about Soul Train, there are just too many standout episodes to narrow it down. And while Al Green sporting his leather hot pants was a classic, sadly the only online clip I could find was grainy and needed more visual oomph. And for me it was the dancing lines of people that always made me hop up and practice my own runway moves!

I can't see the computer screen anymore because I've been crying from laughing so hard!!!

Been studying all the dance moves with my 13 yr. old son who has a couple of friend's Bar-Mitzvah dances in the next few weeks... maybe he will singlehandedly bring back the "dancing line"! The best is the slow motion dude at 1:13! Thank you! I used to love eating my "Little Debbies" on Saturday mornings watching the Soul Train gang with my teenage big brother!
This was fun!

Oh my gosh! Whew! What a blast from the past!!! Courtney, you've made my day!

I think you should plan a Soul Train par-tay! Wouldn't that be a hoot!?!?!?

Hope all is fine in your part of the world. :)
Hugs~

Soul Train was fantastic! Even though, I wasn't really around when it aired live, the re-runs were always as entertaining! xoxo

Thanks for this post. The energy is contagious. I linked the video to a Happy Birthday post for my husband. Nothing gets the crowd up and dancing like Soul Train!
